I'VE GOT YOUR BACK!
I have been in aviation for many years. I knew when I started this work that the health and condition of my spine / back was of the utmost importance. You only have one back and it has 24 moveable vertebrae segments. If you lift, twist, bend, turn or pull in a way that compromises the integrity of the spinal column, you can become subluxated. That means that the nerves that run out of each side of the vertebra body becomes impinged and you now have possible nerve damage and you will suffer with pain and limitations to what you can or can't do. It is the CAN'T DO that will create calling in sick and staying at home. Disc injuries as well as muscle strains are very painful.
As flight attendants we are always bending, lifting and putting strain on our backs. One of the easiest ways to hurt yourself is with heavy luggage. It starts when you are trying to lift your luggage into the car to go to the airport. Then pulling it out. I wish I had a dollar for every visit I have had to the chiropractor in the past 39 years. I have tried every type of luggage. No matter what I have had in the past, with the way that I pack, (I MUST HAVE ALL OF MY STUFF!) I am never satisfied with the luggage that I have purchased. Until now. I highly recommend this luggage. It is making my life easier and it looks great! Another positive thing about it is that when my pilots or the line service guys / gal lift it into the baggage compartment, it is easier on them as well.
